Our client was looking to convert this extensive property into a place of worship for the incoming tenant. Our client’s budget required a cost effective yet efficient solution in order to achieve a guaranteed, watertight building. Our initial survey of the roof exposed a very fragile roof with broken asbestos sheets and multiple leaks on the box gutters. Exall was able to propose an overlay with new profiled plastisol coated steel sheets and mineral wool insulation, leaving the existing Asbestos cement sheets in-situ. In addition all box gutters were re-lined with Sika-Trocal single ply system.

Exall's proposal was to install a cost effective 0.70mm single skin steel system over the top of the existing roof, leaving the asbestos sheets in situ. Palmers Lodge is a popular hostel/backpacker destination located in North West London. They contacted Exall in 2017 for replacement of the felt roof on one of their main outbuildings. The client reported major water ingress internally on the property, which they used as a large hall. A closer inspection by our engineers’ detailed rotten fascia and soffit boards as well as the timber box gutters which had also previously been lined with felt. Exall installed a new single skin 0.70mm steel roof with all new barge flashings, fascias, soffits and a new galvanised joggle gutter.

The client contacted Exall with a request to remove and dispose of the existing asbestos roof and replace with a new single skin 0.70mm steel profiled roof on the iconic old Leatherland building on the A406. In accordance with current health and safety legislation, it is a requirement to carefully wrap each individual asbestos sheet with polythene in order to prevent asbestos fibres being released into the air during the removal process. Our experienced and capable team were able to successfully dispose of over 20 tonnes of hazardous material.
